This week marks the 24th anniversary of two of the best albums of all time.  Both albums were released on the same day (September 24) back in 1991.  Blood Sugar Sex Magik is lauded as the high water mark for the Red Hot Chili Peppers and their Hall of Fame career.  Nevermind by Nirvana is… well, the album that changed the world.

Blood Sugar Sex Magik is a meaty 17 tracks, clocking in at just under 74 minutes.  Album standouts include “Under the Bridge”, “Suck My Kiss”, “Give It Away” and “Breaking the Girl”.  It has sold over 13 million copies worldwide.

Nevermind is a slick (by Nirvana standards) 12-song sensation.  Momentum began building shortly after its September release.  We all know the story… the lead single, “Smells Like Teen Spirit” just kept getting more and more popular.  30+ million sold worldwide.  It brought a much needed shift in music, bringing “alternative” to the mainstream.
