Melissa Mcelmeel works as an LPN at Comfort Care Medicare in Cedar Rapids. She contacted us to spread the word about the 5th and final "Savanna's Ride" happening this Saturday, September 23.

Savanna is the daughter of Tim "Tigger" Flynn and is a survivor of a rare hepatoblastoma liver cancer. Savanna's had a tough life - her mom died when she was just 6 months old, and she was also born with a very rare chromosome abnormality known as Mosaic Trisomy 17.

Her family is inviting all bikers and friends in hot rods and trucks to join the ride. The signup starts at 11:00 a.m. at Knickers Saloon 2186 Central Ave. in Dubuque.

The ride will start at 12:00 noon at Knickers, then route through Bellevue, Hanover and Savanna IL and end back in Dubuque. The fun includes a silent auction at Knickers after the ride.

Proceeds from the ride will benefit Compass to Care a charitable organization that helped the Flynn family back in 2013.

The early weather forecast for Saturday is sunny and warm, so it should be a great day to say goodbye to summer and saddle up to ride into the fall season.
