I fell in in love with the "Go, Cubs, Go" song the first time I heard it. It's a song with great lyrics and a catchy hook. It's been an anthem in Chicago, and I hope we hear it four more times this year!

The song is written by Steve Goodman. According to Wikipedia, he was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan who wrote the song at the request of Cubs radio partner WGN/720.

"Go, Cubs, Go" first became popular  when the Cubs won the National League East Division Championship in '84, going on to lose in the NLCS. From then on, it was the official team song.

The song has gained popularity again in the last few years as the team continues to win. I was at the West Side Lounge in Cedar Rapids watching the final game of the NLCS, and a patron played the song five times on the juke box after the victory. It was awesome to watch the entire bar sing along to every word!

Steve Goodman died of leukemia and one year later the song was given a Grammy Award. I'm sure he'll be watching the World Series from the heavens above.

I'll try and air the song later this week on The KRNA Morning Show. This has been a fun year to follow the Cubs. Enjoy the World Series and GO CUBS GO!!!!
