As you get set to head over the river and through the woods to grandmother's house or wherever your Thanksgiving plans take you, you won't be spending as much at the pump. According to Marketwatch.com, this Thanksgiving, gas prices will be the second- lowest since 2008 and third lowest since 2004.

Prices at the pump are lower because of low oil prices and some oil refineries coming back on line from the Summer maintenance season.

According to Iowa State Gas Prices, the national average price for gasoline on Tuesday was $2.14 a gallon marking eleven consecutive days of declining prices.

Here in Linn County, the lowest gas price we saw was on Edgewood Rd ($1.82) at both Murphy's USA & Casey's right off Hwy 30.
