Summertime! Now that the bugs have gone [for the most part] back into their gnat caves, I can finally fully appreciate the season.

One of my favorite things about summer is the bing cherry. Sure, nectarines and strawberries are killer van diller. But, who can deny the downright orgasmic qualities of the BING!

I can't get enough. Some people binge drink. I binge bing.

For your bloggadoshous reading pleasure, I roll out some bing cherry facts. Hold on to your stems and get ready for the facts and figures, freaks.

  • One cup of bing cherries with pits contains about 74 calories, 1 gram of protein, no fat, 19 grams of carbohydrates, 3 grams of fiber and 15 grams of sugar.
  • Bings are a valuable source of many vitamins and minerals. According to a 2013 analysis from some cherry-picking core artist named Tanya Zuckerbrot, bing cherries contain antioxidants and other nutrients that can help relieve inflammation, prevent cancer and lower blood pressure.
  • Prunus avium is latin for "Man, that's really wonderful."
  • Bing Cherries are mainly harvested in the Pacific Northwest and California. Suck it, Michigan.

Get that explosion of cherry goodness on to your svelte frame today. You deserve some bing bang boom, bra.
