It has been reported that tonight's Freedom Festival Balloon Glow at Brucemore has been CANCELLED.

Rain chances all day and through tonight prompted the cancellation. Because more rain is predicted on the make-up date, which had been planned for this Thursday, June 21, it was announced that the event will be scrapped entirely this year. The Gazette reports that continual rain today is "deteriorating the Brucemore grounds" where the event is held.

This is a popular family-friendly event each year, and we're sorry to see it called off for this year, but safety and comfort of the community come first. Hopefully, Mother Nature will cooperate for its return next year.

Meanwhile, other Freedom Festival events such as this weekend's BBQ Roundup at the McGrath Amphitheatre are still on.
