An Iowa fugitive from law enforcement got a very bad surprise Tuesday. They thought they would be receiving free tickets to an event at the U.S. Cellular Center. However, there were no tickets... only handcuffs.

The sting was the combined efforts of authorities here in eastern Iowa and the U.S. Marshals Service. According to KCRG, letters were sent to fugitives, known to be violent. The letter told the person receiving it they'd get free tickets to the upcoming event of their choice at the U.S. Cellular Center. All they had to do was show up, during a specified time, at the downtown Cedar Rapids venue on Tuesday. About 100 letters were sent in Black Hawk, Buchanan, Jones, and Linn counties.

Nicholas Bonifazi, Marshals Service Deputy, says it was a success:

As a task force we have spent countless hours on one individual, so if we get the right individual into custody today, one individual would be a success for me. But obviously I would like to see some more of these violent individuals off the street.

Here's a video of an arrest Tuesday at the U.S. Cellular Center.

The woman was taken to the Linn County Jail, following her arrest.
