Ellen DeGeneres seems to get all the good musical guests these days! First it was Jack White, then Ryan Adams swung by the studio in his skintight Black Flag t-shirt. And now, Dave Grohl and his Foo Fighters made an appearance in support of their latest effort, ‘Sonic Highways.’

Introduced as "one of the greatest bands in rock and roll," the Foos rocked the sixth track from their new record, 'In the Clear' (watch the performance above). The song is inspired by the band’s time in New Orleans -- and the studio version features the work of the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. New Orleans is actually the focus of this week’s episode of ‘Sonic Highways’ on HBO (Friday, Nov. 21), so we’re guessing that’s why they picked it for ‘Ellen.’

She seemed happy with it; just before announcing that everyone in the audience would go home with a copy of 'Sonic Highways,' she succinctly wrapped up her thoughts with a simple, "I love it."

And just as he did with David Letterman, Grohl talked to DeGeneres about his kids and what it’s like being a rock star who is also parent. The host took things to a much funnier level, though, by asking Grohl to draw a picture of his three-month old daughter (apparently, she's a character on 'The Simpsons'). And as a nice nod to Louisiana, during the interview, Grohl is wearing a jacket with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band's logo. Check out the interview below:
