Santaland Diaries is about an out-of-work slacker who decides to become a Macy's elf during the holiday crunch. At first the job is simply humiliating, but once the thousands of visitors start pouring through Santa's workshop, he becomes battle weary and bitter.
Season’s Greetings is a funny, touching, and slightly twisted monologue about the season, based on Mrs. Dunbar, a middle-aged wife and mother who writes an annual holiday letter. This year, the newsletter reports some changes in her world that she is not necessarily happy about. Both pieces were written by essayist, David Sedaris, of NPR fame.
