This is where it all began.
The "Kinnick Wave" or "Iowa Wave" has impacted way more than just Hawkeye fans and kids at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital. It has moved millions as it's been featured on what seems like every major network including ESPN.
Last night was another emotional night for Hawkeye fans as The Disney Sports Spirit Award was presented to the University of Iowa football team during ESPN's Home Depot College Football Awards Show. KCRG reports that Disney gives the award to the most inspirational figure in college football each year. This year, Hawkeye Coach Kirk Ferentz was on site to accept the award, along with cornerback Josh Jackson and one very special Hawkeye fan, Kaden Kelso.
Kaden is 12-years-old and was a cancer patient at the University of Iowa Children's Hospital when he first laid eyes on "The Wave", according to KCRG. WAS is the key word there, as now, Kaden enjoys the magical site from the field cancer-free. As you can tell this wave means a lot to everyone in Hawkeye country, as well as viewers everywhere.
