A young man's simple gesture toward an eastern Iowa family has gone viral.

Connor, a teller at the Cedar Falls Hy-Vee, is being recognized for helping a family pay for their groceries. Early yesterday afternoon, a family had loaded their groceries onto the belt at Hy-Vee. The family was counting out pennies (they'd cut it close) to cover their bill when some money was sucked up in the conveyor belt.

What did the young man do? Connor grabbed his wallet and took out two dollars of his own money to cover the rest of the bill.

As Charis Hope Hansen's Facebook post said,

When he did it, he did it like it was no big deal. This young man went above and beyond for this customer and I would love to see this man be recognized for an outstanding employee. What an act of selflessness and kindness to help someone less fortunate.

Well done, Connor. We're happy to spread the word on this wonderful act. Good job, young man!
