If you think that the drive in movie experience is gone forever, think again. There are at least four drive-in theaters open for business in the state with one right here in eastern Iowa! So load up the car, grab some chairs and blankets and get ready for a double feature!

The 61 Drive-In Theater is located just off of Highway 61 south of Maquoketa. The theater officially opens for the season as of Memorial Day Weekend! Then they'll have nightly shows until sometime in August. Gone are the days of old fashioned 35 mm film. The theater has upgraded to the latest digital projection equipment and also features stereo sound. You can even tune your car radio to 88.5 and pick up sound from the movie!
