Fears that Romaine Lettuce may be tainted with the e. coli virus are causing concerns across the U.S.

The U.S. e. coli outbreak is surrounding Iowa, with cases of infections popping up in Nebraska, Illinois and Indiana, among 13 total states reporting active cases.

The e. coli virus can lead to severe sickness with flu-like symptoms and has even been named the cause for one death in Canada where this outbreak may have originated.
