According to WHO-TV in Des Moines, "Investigators are waiting to view surveillance video to figure out what may have lead to a driver to crash into a gas pump."

The incident happened Sunday morning at the Des Moines Git and Go gas station at 2601 SW 9th Street. WHO reports the person involved in the accident jumped the curb and crashed into a gas pump. The crash caused the pump to burst into flames.

Des Moines Firelighters were called to the scene to put out the blaze. Roads were closed while the fire was being extinguished. We're told everything is back to normal and the gas station is open for business. The name of the driver has not been released at this time.
