Perhaps the most buzz-worthy moment at Saturday's night's Cedar Rapids Beer Summit occurred when news broke that Iowa State had won their Big 12 Championship title game.

Tim W. of Marion told his friends he was certain the Cyclones wouldn't be overlooked on Selection Sunday. When I asked him where the Hawks would likely land, he just as confidently said "Maybe they get a first seed in the NIT..." Well called, Tim!

CBS2 News reports that #5 Iowa State will tip off on Thursday March 16th against #12 Nevada in the First Rounds in the Midwest division of the NCAA's 2017 Bracket.  If they win two games in Milwaukee, the Cyclones will travel to Kansas City for the sweet sixteen.

Meanwhile the Hawkeyes will be a first round seed in the NIT Tournament and will take on #8 seed South Dakota on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
