We’re only about 1 month into the 2015 Major League Baseball season, so it’s way too early to call any series vital.  However, the St. Louis Cardinal already hold a 4 ½ game lead over the second-place Chicago Cubs in the National League Central.  Tonight, the two teams open up a big 4-game series at Busch Stadium in St. Louis.

There are a ton of Cubs and Cardinals fans in Eastern Iowa.  My allegiance is with the Cubs, but I hesitantly admit that the Cardinals have a top-notch organization.  The Cards have won 2 World Series in the past decade and have 11 championships overall, compared with the Cubs’ 2.  The two franchises have been playing against each other since 1892!
