Anytime Larry King and Corey Taylor come together, you're going to get a pretty great interview. The Slipknot / Stone Sour frontman recently appeared on Larry King Now to talk about a number of different topics, including his new book America 51, Kid Rock's senate run, Donald Trump, Chester Bennington, Slipknot's upcoming album, his son Griffin and more.

At one point in the interview, King starts reading fan questions, asking Taylor what he thinks of Kid Rock's apparent senate bid. Taylor shakes his head and says plainly, "No." He expanded, “I’ve heard he is really, really cool, but I think the worst thing that people can do is assume you can fill a role that you have no experience in, I mean, we are kinda seeing that with the President now.”

He also talks about his contempt for President Trump. “I am not going to sit here and call him a Hitler like a lot of other people will, I think he is just a massive ego. He’s a businessman who's going to try and run America Inc., and that doesn't work, that's not what governments do. It’s never gone the right way for the middle class. To everyone who keeps telling me to give him a chance, I keep trying to give him a chance and he keeps shooting himself in the foot."

King also asks Taylor about Chester Bennington's suicide, and he expanded on some of what Loudwire talked to him about recently.  “Unless you've walked in those shoes, you don't understand the pain, the weight of carrying that along, and there's no right way to deal with it," explains Taylor on how people deal with deep depression. "There's no universal fix all. So you spend your whole life trying to find what works for you. I am just glad I got the time I had with him.”

As for the next Slipknot album, Taylor says, "Some of the guys are working on music right now and kinda putting demos together. They said they'd send me some stuff." King then asked Taylor if both of his bands would tour at the same time, to which the singer quipped, "I tell you what, if my son keeps going the way he is, I'll send him out with Stone Sour, and I'll handle Slipknot," referring to his son Griffin's recent guest vocal performance at Stone Sour show.
