The Iowa River Landing development just off Interstate 80 is set to welcome a restaurant. A Cedar Rapids location won't be far behind.

According to a press release from the Iowa River Landing, Fuzzy’s Taco Shop has signed a lease for a new location in the Iowa River Landing. It will be located on the east end of The Landing residential unit, on 9th Street.

Fuzzy's Taco Shop originated in Fort Worth, Texas in 2001. It features baja-style flavors and proprietary sauces, slow-cooked and seasoned meats, and has grilled and tempura seafood items that are added to everything from tacos to sandwiches. Their menu also features burritos, nachos, quesadillas, and salads. Fuzzy's also has kids' meals, breakfast items that are available all day, as well as beer and margaritas. Everything is made fresh in-house with whole foods.

The Coralville Fuzzy’s Taco Shop will be the first in eastern Iowa when it opens in early January. Cedar Rapids will also see the opening of a Fuzzy's sometime in early 2017. There are currently 115 locations across the U.S.

In the press release, owner Corey Butcher says, "We chose Iowa River Landing for several reasons. First, we love the current development and are extremely excited about the future growth. We also like being close to the University of Iowa. This location will not only allow us to bring the Fuzzy's Taco Shop experience to the students of the University but also the residents of Coralville and its many visitors.”
