According to CBS 2, "The physics department at Coe College just received a hefty grant from the National Science Foundation for research on glass."

The total amount of the grant was $636,000. This money will be used to help more then 40 undergraduate students and a hand full of high school students the ability to publish research on glass.

The students will be focusing on the practical uses of glass. These practical uses include: eyeglasses, batteries, and medical uses.

Coe College is a four-year, liberal arts college located in Cedar Rapids. Coe was founded in 1851.
