Chris Cornell's widow says she has yet to see "any of the police or toxicology reports," two weeks after the Soundgarden frontman's suicide last month.

In fact, Vicky Cornell alleges in a new statement that the Detroit Law Department has denied a request made by family attorney Kirk Pasich under the Freedom of Information Act for reports relating to Cornell’s death, arguing that their release would compromise an open police investigation.

That's left Cornell's survivors in a state of flux. "The family hopes there will be an end to speculation about the cause of Mr. Cornell’s death," the statement adds, "while the family awaits the definitive and complete reports."

Cornell began questioning the official cause of death immediately following her husband's death, noting that the prescription medication Ativan – which Chris Cornell took for anxiety – may have been a contributing factor.

"We are grateful for the outpouring of support as we mourn Chris’ passing, but we still have several unanswered questions about what led to his death," Vicky Cornell said in today's statement. "We believe the toxicology report will answer these questions."

Her suspicions about a drug interaction arose because of conversations they had prior to Chris Cornell's last concert with Soundgarden. "When we spoke before the show," Vicky said in the days following Chris' death, "we discussed plans for a vacation over Memorial Day and other things we wanted to do."
