If anyone asks you why Iowa has so many Chicago Cubs fans, you can tell them how today the Cub organization proved themselves to be the team that loves their fans the most. Today the Cubs presented long suffering, loyal-yet-dishonored Cubs fan Steve Bartman a 2016 World Series Championship Ring.

In a statement issued today, the team said “On behalf of the entire Chicago Cubs organization, we are honored to present a 2016 World Series Championship Ring to Mr. Steve Bartman. We hope this provides closure on an unfortunate chapter of the story that has perpetuated throughout our quest to win a long-awaited World Series."

With this gesture the Cubs have proven there are no hard feelings dating back to that fateful fall day in October 2003, when Steve Bartman reached out of the stands for a foul ball in a play that many felt turn the tide against the Cubs that  year.

In the press release today the Cubs added "While no gesture can fully lift the public burden he has endured for more than a decade, we felt it was important Steve knows he has been and continues to be fully embraced by this organization. After all he has sacrificed, we are proud to recognize Steve Bartman with this gift today.”

Iowa is proud to be filled with Chicago Cubs fans!
