You're supposed to change, right? It'd be boring if you churned out the same sh*t for 25 years. In their career, Radiohead has went from the chunky guitar of 1992's "Creep" to an album lush with orchestral arrangements. The album of which I speak is the brand new A Moon Shaped Pool, released as a download earlier this month. Look for the CD/LP editions out June 17th. Check out the videos for "Burn the Witch" (now playing on the KRNA airwaves) and "Daydreaming" here...

My Radiohead fandom started with 1997's OK Computer. That album was released while I was in college, and is probably still in my Top 10 of all-time. There was nothing even close to "Creep" on that album, and there hasn't been since.

I never listen to the band's debut, Pablo Honey (1993). That seems like an entirely different band, not too different than a lot of early 1990's "alternative" bands. I feel their later works (the aforementioned OK Computer, Kid A, Amnesiac, In Rainbows, The King of Limbs) are better, more experimental and much more interesting.

Sometimes a new Radiohead album takes a while to grow on me, but they always do. The only one I haven't connected with since OK Computer is 2003's Hail To The Thief, and I probably just haven't spent enough time with that one. I'll wait for the physical edition of A Moon Shaped Pool to come out... it might take a few listens, but I have no doubt there will be some brilliance there... and it will sound like nobody else.
