Hard to believe, but it's been 16 years since these four smash hits hit our airwaves. I lived out of (literally on occasion) the Rock N Roll Bunker on ACT Circle in Iowa City in 1998. A year later we moved to the APAC Building here in downtown Cedar Rapids. The suits all moved north while the deejays remained at the old building. Captain Winkey, Red Dog, Jess, Fish, Jay, Valerie, Mike, Tommy, Darryl, Waldo, Uncle Bob, Joe and I had some fun waiting for our new assignment in Linn County. That place was thoroughly trashed.

The Foo Fighters released their third record in '99, There Is Nothing Left To Lose. Another hilarious video was the result. I never thought they could top the fire rescue scene in "My Hero," but somehow they did with "Learn To Fly." This Tenacious D-spiced airplane vid is a classic.

Another smash from the last year of the century came from Everlast. This rapper, singer & songwriter never went mass-appeal after this one, but his legacy took only four + minutes to cement. Erik Schrody made his mark.

Here's another artist who busted through with a unique sound. The third single from Fatboy Slim's second studio record You've Come a Long Way Baby.

Enema of the State was released 18 days into the new millenium. "All The Small Things" hit KRNA just before we rang in Y2K. 81 million You Tube views later, it's stood the test of time. I'm pretty sure "Travis I'm Pregnant" was more of a reality for Barker than just a fan holding a sign.

Those were good years. I'm glad the computer bug that wasn't, wasn't. We didn't have much drinking water left at The Bunker.
