Celebrating 10 Years of the Cedar Rapids Downtown Farmers’ Market

Last Saturday morning, I was making my way to the KRNA studios in downtown Cedar Rapids when I was greeted by thousands of people wandering the streets. I thought to myself, “What the hell is going on?” I quickly figured it out. It was the first Cedar Rapids Downtown Farmers’ Market of the year, presented by the Economic Alliance.

The Farmer’s Market in Cedar Rapids has become one of the largest open-air markets in the Midwest. Dozens, maybe even hundreds, of Iowa vendors are on hand offering fresh produce, baked goods, meats, dairy products, and more. 2015 is the 10^thanniversary season.
