There are a lot of reasons to be proud to live in Cedar Rapids. The latest honor comes from Smart Asset in their second annual survey of the best places in the U.S. to be a teacher.

Cedar Rapids ranked 4th in the nation. Yes, 4th place! It's obvious that our teachers rock!

According to the survey, the fairly low unemployment rate in the metro area is one reason. Another reason is the impressive average high school graduation rate of 88%.

In addition to being the fourth best place in America for teachers, a recent Smart Asset analysis shows that the Cedar Rapids metro area ranks as the best place to raise a child.

High praise from Smart Asset, and it speaks volumes to the family values we share as a community and how much our educators care about the quality of our children's education.

If you know of a top teacher at any of the schools in the Eastern Iowa corridor, show your appreciation by nominating them for our weekly Top Teacher award!
