Two Cedar Rapids police officers who were involved in a fatal crash on I-380 over the weekend have been released from the hospital. Their identities are not being released. The two officers were providing traffic control for another accident on I-380 southbound near the first avenue exit, when another vehicle slid into their parked squad car.

Both people in the second vehicle died from their injuries. They have been identified as 21-year-old Martrell Demetrius Watson and 22-year-old Kaitlyn Marie-Hall Stougard, both of Cedar Rapids. The cause of the wreck is still under investigation.

Officials say that both officers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash which prevented major injuries.
