Cedar Rapids Parks Close in Preparation of Flooding
From a Press release issued by the city last night the Cheyenne Park Off-Leash Area will close on Sunday, September 25 due to rising water. Members of the nonprofit group known in Cedar Rapids for their Splash events, K9Cola volunteers will remove all agility equipment, wagons, trash cans and other items from the park tonight. Whomever visits the park Saturday night will need to dispose of their pet waste on their own. An additional press release will be issued when the parks re-open. In previous years flooding has left debris and damage that has made the park unsafe. For ideas on how to keep your pet safe check out Ways to Prepare Your Pets for a Flood.
