If you're a fan of curling, then this is your week! The Cedar Rapids Curling Club will be taking part in the 4th annual CedarSpiel Tournament this Friday through Sunday at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena. The event will feature 18 teams from 8 states. The event is free and open to the public.

Prior to the tournament, the Cedar Rapids Curling Club is teaming up with the United Way of East Central Iowa for a fundraiser called 'Sweeping For Change." It will feature teams from local businesses taking part in a curling clinic and then playing in three matches with a chance at prizes. The deadline to enter is this Wednesday and the cost is $800 per team. To register go to the Cedar Rapids Curling Club website, cedarrapidscurling.com. All proceeds benefit the United Way.

The CedarSpiel tournament starts Friday at 6:30 p.m. and runs Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday championship matches begin at 11:30 a.m. Four-time Olympic curler Debbi McCormick will also be on hand to compete and teach others about the sport of curling.
