The former heads of Halo chime in on what to expect from this week's Destiny beta.

Bungie has released a new video with some of its team explaining pivotal pieces of info for its upcoming beta. David Dague, a Community Manager at Bungie, mentions that even if you played last month's alpha, you should expect a completely different experience this time around. Even if you didn't play the alpha, Dague claims this is a great place to start your first steps in the world of Destiny.

"You'll use the menus in the game to go and try the different things in the world of Destiny. You'll be able to be competitive, you'll be able to experience the story," Dague said. "There will be cooperative activities and you'll get a taste of what it's like to be a citizen of the Tower, overlooking the last safe city on Earth and investing in the things that'll make your Guardian more powerful."

"I think people will be surprised by how much content will be in the beta," said Lars Bakken, Destiny's lead designer.

Destiny's beta starts on July 17 for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 players. It's official launch is on Sept. 9 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
