Holy mushroom!

According to Polk County Conservation Facebook page, a man by the name of Richard Bienaime found this beast of a puffball mushroom. He stumbled upon it while hunting squirrels north of Jester Park in central Iowa.

After reading through the comments, it appears that Bienaime first offered the giant to his sister, who declined. He then gave it to Polk County Conservation Department, who were amazed at the mushrooms' size. Who wouldn't be!? Honestly, we thought this was a dinosaur egg upon first glance.

If you're planning on doing some mushroom hunting, the center of the state may be the place to go. Although, you most likely won't find another one THIS big.

Happy hunting!
