‘Beat the Bitter’ in North Liberty This Weekend

Penn Meadows Park in North Liberty comes to life Friday and Saturday so you can 'Beat the Bitter.'

It all begins Friday, February 3 with a variety of free events including horse-drawn carriage rides, a big ol' community bonfire, meet and greet with Disney's Frozen Queen Elsa and Princess Anna, an ice-carving demonstration, and fireworks.

Saturday's free events are the Nearly Impossible Scavenger Hunt, fat tire bikes, and Take a Walk in Someone Else's Snowshoes.

Friday and Saturday's forecast high temperatures are mid to upper-20's, according to CBS2. That's slightly below normal, but I guess that's ok. After all, it IS 'Beat the Bitter.'
