The sentencing date for the celebrity Northeast Iowa farmer accused of leaving the scene of a deadly accident in rural Buchanan County, has been rescheduled.


37 year old Chris Soules of Arlington had been charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury accident resulting in death; he pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious injury.

Soules was the driver of a vehicle that crashed into the rear of a tractor, killing Aurora farmer Kenneth Mosher. The accident happened April 24th of 2017, on a rural road north of Aurora.

Soules was originally set to be sentenced on Tuesday, January 8th, but his attorney needed more time to prepare. The hearing is now scheduled for February 12th in Buchanan County District Court in Independence.

If Soules' plea is approved by the court, he could be sentenced to up to 2 years in prison and a fine of up to $6,250.

Soules was made famous for his television appearances on "The Bachelor" and "Dancing with the Stars".
