This morning on the Free Beer & Hot Wings Show, we talked to Shaun Evans who, with his son Shamus, will do something that will make you look like you're the laziest person in the world. And it's all for a great cause. Oh, and it's a great, heartwarming story as well.
Heavy rain in Newark, New Jersey led to a unusual situation. After a nearby lake started to overflow into the streets, a news camera crew stumbled upon a couple of fish attempting to swim up the street, but not doing so well.
They helped them out by putting them on top of a sewer drain so they would at least have a constant flow of water. These weren't your little standard goldfish, either. They were full-sized trout!
A father in Kentucky left his child in the back of his parked car - windows down, keys in the ignition and engine running. Not necessarily the worst, but some people might not realize that the probability of your child getting kidnapped goes up exponentially when you leave them alone in a running car.
Although the child wasn’t suffocating or overheating, Mark Hermann, a local Kentucky man, saw the scene and went to investigate. He spoke with the child who said his mother was at work and his father ran into a store. When the boy’s father returned to the car, Hermann confronted him and got a bunch of snarky comments back, including "He's not out of my eyesight."
There's that saying that a dog is man's best friend, but this duck is here to tell you that ducks can be your best pal, too.
Watch as this pet duck patiently waits in the front seat of the car as kids get off the school bus, awaiting the arrival of his owner. When he finally sees his buddy, just the sight of him makes his little duck brain go cuckoo.
With Free Beer out this week for the birth of his twins, everyone's role is a bit different on the show for a couple of days.
Steve has been running the board all week, which is something that Free Beer usually handles. The other day, though, Zane decided that it was his moment to shine. He wanted to go back to his Joe and the Poorboy roots and run the board. So, we'll see how long this lasts.
On the show this morning, we talked to Kyle (formerly known as Wiener 2 when he was an intern) about his interning experience. We reminisced about the time that he and Wiener 1 had to compete in the Wiener Challenge, in which Producer Joe threw hot dogs and baked beans at them off of a parking garage.
To top it off, the dogs were dipped in a ketchup/mustard/relish slop sauce. Why did we do this? Who knows. But it sure made for a funny video!
