An Iowa City Has Been Named One of the Best to Raise a Family

If you're looking for a great city to raise a family, look no further than Des Moines! They were just ranked in the top 10 cities in America to raise a family!

The rental website Zumper put together the list, which is based on factors like infant care costs, household income, commute times, crime rates, and cost per additional room. Several Midwest cities made the top 10, but Des Moines was the only one from Iowa! The website states:

"Des Moines placed eighth in our rankings. It, like many of the other cities in the Midwest, scored well due to lower than average housing costs, including an only $40 difference between a one and a two bedroom rents, as well as low reported commute times and a very low unemployment rate of only 2.1%."

1. Madison, Wisconsin
2. Lincoln, Nebraska
3. Lexington, Kentucky
4. Boise, Idaho
5. Tallahassee, Florida
