The Iowa City Animal Care & Adoption Center has around 170 cats right now that are looking for good homes!

During our Furry Friday segment these past few weeks, all the animal shelters we've worked with have said the same thing: it's kitten season. Animal shelters all over Eastern Iowa are being flooded with cats and kittens, and there just isn't enough room for them all.

According to KCRG, The Iowa City Animal Care & Adoption Center is currently taking care of 170 cats, which means they are out of room. They have been doubling them up in kennels, and have even had to turn one of their dog rooms into a room for cats. Because of this overflow of kitties, they are offering a special on cats this month (through the 31st). All adult cats are available for $25 and kittens are available for $50. The cost includes all age-appropriate vaccines, micro-chip, spaying/neutering, and a health screening.

The Iowa City Animal Care & Adoption Center is located at 3910 Napoleon Lane in Iowa City. If you interested in getting more information on the cats available, you can visit their website or Facebook page.
