Do You Live in One of America’s 10 Richest Towns for 2017?
If you want to live in one of these thriving locales, you’d better start saving.
Bloomberg has come out with a list of the 100 richest towns in America. The site “evaluated inflation-adjusted household income data for all U.S. places with a minimum population of 2,000 and ranked them based on average household income.”
So, naturally, you’re thinking Beverly Hills is cracking the top spot, right? Wrong. Number one goes to Atherton, Calif., which is situated in Northern California between San Francisco and San Jose and boasts an average annual household income north of $444,000 (based on 2015 data).
Beverly Hills, by the way, is not necessarily the bastion of glitz and glamour that we’ve all become accustomed to seeing.
The stats show that more than a third of the richest towns are located within 50 miles of New York City, reflecting the rankings’ strong East Coast flavor.
What do you think? Would you want to live in any of these places? Or is the pressure of keeping up with the Joneses too much?
