I think it's safe to say that most Iowans are looking for a getaway. Someplace other than this endless winter we seem to be stuck in. Allegiant Air offers flights to warm places like Las Vegas and Orlando. But starting soon you'll be able to travel to the mecca of country music.

Air travelers this spring will be able to take advantage of direct flights from Cedar Rapids to Nashville. Introductory fares will be as low as $49 each way. The new direct service from The Eastern Iowa Airport to Nashville International Airport will begin on May 17th. The new flight will operate twice, weekly.

Allegiant began offering flights out of Cedar Rapids back in 2004. They currently offer flights to seven U.S. cities. Allegiant officials say that thousands of Iowans have taken advantage of their low rates and flown to numerous leisure destinations. They believe the direct flight to Music City will be quite popular.

To take advantage of the low introductory rates you need to purchase your tickets by February 13th for travel by August 13th.
