Iowa Now Has Its Own Sneaker! [PHOTO]
Iowans! We now have our own shoe!
According to Business Insider, Adidas partnered with Refinery29 to have 12 female artists create a pair of sneakers that represent each U.S. state. All of the artists used the same Ultraboost X sneaker as their base, but put their own twist on the design of each state's shoe.
Surprisingly enough, Iowa's design doesn't resemble a corn on the cob! Mari Orr was the artist behind the Iowa shoe, which resembles our vast farmland. It looks as though you're looking down at Iowa land from a plane. Orr even added a material at the heel of the shoe that looks like grass and at the front that resembles trees! She says "gorgeous green patchwork reflects Iowa's bountiful tapestry of farmland."
What do you think of the design? The snazzy sneakers were all sold in an online auction with "all of the proceeds going to 'Women Win', a charity devoted to advancing women's leadership."
Here's how some of our neighboring state's sneakers turned out.
Which is your favorite? You can see all of the state's designs here.
