A New Food Vendor Has Moved Into NewBo City Market

There's a new food option the next time you visit NewBo City Market at 1100 3rd St SE in Cedar Rapids! Birria King has moved into the market and is now accepting online orders!

If the name Birria King sounds familiar to you, it's probably because the business has been around for a couple of years now. Back in 2021, it opened inside of Rapid Foods in the parking lot of Lindale Mall. Although Rapid Foods ended up shutting its doors, Birria King has still been in operation via a food trailer and online ordering.

As you can tell from the name, Birria King specializes in birria dishes. According to Wikipedia, birria is "a meat stew or soup made from goat, beef, lamb, mutton, or chicken. The meat is marinated in an adobo made of vinegar, dried chiles, garlic, and herbs and spices (including cumin, bay leaves, and thyme) before being cooked in a broth." Some of the offerings from Birria King include birria tacos, birria eggrolls, birria quesadillas, birria ramen, and birria nachos. You can check out the full menu HERE.

Owner Stephen Range's Facebook page says that their new location at NewBo is now open, and orders can be place via DoorDash, GrubHub, and Birriaking.online. You can visit the official website HERE.
