The Cedar Rapids Police Department arrested a 21-year-old man on Sunday morning near Hazzard County Saloon.

If you were out and about in downtown CR in the early hours of the morning on Sunday, and you heard something that sounded like a gunshot... no, you weren't just hearing things. A gun was fired into the air behind Hazzard County Saloon at around 12:42 am. Police were able to locate and arrest the suspect, 21-year-old Derek Bailey, for reckless use of a firearm and public intoxication. Luckily, nobody was injured.

I happened to leave this particular bar less than an hour before the incident, but I was still downtown and didn't hear/notice anything out of the ordinary. If you happened to be downtown and witness the incident, feel free to share your experience in the comments!
