The new bus service named 380 Express is adding new Saturday runs to its route. This is a great idea and may be the most obvious no-brainer decision for the new bus service business. We’re talking game day transportation for Hawks football and basketball that’s more affordable than Uber, or even parking.

So far early indicators of success are good. The buses are very comfortable and I'm sure they probably still smell brand new.

During its first month of operation, officials said about 2,600 riders used the Cedar Rapids to Iowa City bus. I'd say that's a promising start for the new company.

The service connects transportation centers in Iowa City and downtown Cedar Rapids and includes stops at Kirkwood Community College’s main campus, Iowa River Landing, Coralville, and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Brock Grenis, a transit administrator with 380 Express said “We are pleased with the statistics for the first month and anticipate ridership to continue to grow with more awareness of the service”. He added that the approaching winter weather and future road construction projects will also help grow bus ride usage.
