FURst Responders Calendar Supports Cedar Rapids Animals [PHOTOS]

A love of animals and terrific photos come together for the new FURst Responders calendar.

2024 is the third year that Honor and Respect has been behind a calendar featuring area first responders. For next year's edition, they decided to support animals with their efforts.

The 2024 FURST Responders Calendar is available for purchase now and will support veterinary bills at Critter Crusaders, which "provides advanced medical and surgical treatment Critter Crusaders provides advanced medical and surgical treatment with life and limb saving procedures to restore health and adoptability for the local homeless animals. We also work with rescues and shelters to facilitate placements for homeless animals as an alternative to euthanasia." The all-volunteer non-profit has been helping Cedar Rapids animals since 2008.

This year's proceeds will also go to Friends Helping Friends, a non-profit that assists Cedar Rapids Animal Care and Control. Friends Helping Friends "leads in resource development and advocacy for the success of Cedar Rapids Animal Care and Control. Our goals are to organize and execute strategic fundraising events, with the hopes of reaching, educating and engaging the community to ensure the welfare of pets and animals in Cedar Rapids. Additionally, our volunteer board helps allocate necessary funding to emergency animal care, tests and surgical treatments, and supplies for Cedar Rapids Animal Care and Control."

Calendars are $25 and can be purchased through Sunday, December 10 on the Honor and Respect website here. Delivery is expected by January 1, 2024.
