Jaymz Larson’s Top 5 Spooky Rock Songs
In honor of Halloween this month, I've put together a list of my top 5 favorite "SPOOKY ROCK SONGS". Here we go!
- 1
"Welcome To My Nightmare"
Not only my favorite Alice Cooper tune, but my all-time favorite Halloween song. Listen to this track in the dark by yourself, I dare you.
- 2
"Mr Crowley"
Ozzy Osbourne wrote this song about Aleister Crowley. Crowley was an English occultist and ceremonial magician. Ozzy was mixing booze and drugs at the time he wrote this spooky masterpiece.
- 3
"Better By You, Better Than Me'
Originally written and recorded by Spooky Truth, Judas Priest covered it back in 1990. It was alleged that the JP track contained backwards satanic messaging. Seems like a lot of work to me.
- 4
"Dragula"
Rob Zombie is like the walking, talking, personification of Halloween. I interviewed Rob before an Ozzy show in Des Moines. It was like talking to the living dead...for real.
- 5
"The Number Of The Beast"
Iron Maiden wrote this in 1982. The song caused controversy and outrage amongst religious groups because of the lyrics. It's very heavy, and one of my favorites.
